North to Wollongong, then to 'build a boat', and enjoying the extended 'TNH'

January 10th Thursday - Tour day to Wollongong, about halfway to Sydney, straight to the foreshore took the 'Blue' walk its about a mile around, including the lighthouse with a great view of the harbour. On the return we went past some underground bunkers & canons used for protection in 1850's. Stopped for lunch at Micky D's and drove the CBD.

Start of the 'Blue Walk' on the foreshore at the Beach.

Looking across harbour with both lighthouses in distant.

Rough water by outcropping.

Unique flora along the walk.

Chanel between the Jetty's

Grandma Baibe & her Girls at the Lighthouse on the Jetty.

Now to trek up the hill to the other lighthouse and canons.

A look back past the lower lighthouse and harbour.

Back on the other side, a view towards the harbour.

To defend the harbour- a gun placement on track.

Next stop is the Buddhist Monastery at Port Kembla. The Nan Tien Buddhist Temple, Pagoda and grounds very beautiful and interesting. Here is just a few shots from there.

At the foot of the stairs to the Temple.

A great view to the left as you start up the steps.

At top of steps, with a view left towards the Pagoda.

Unable to enter, but a picture tells a lot.

Tory & Kaiya enhance the view back towards
the entrance and Wollongong.

Pagoda from deck at Temple.

To beat a different drum.

Even the decor on the roof if neat.

Wow- I don't remember what this is called.

The girls in an unusual archway.

A Pagoda view as we started up the steep hill.

To ring this bell it takes some effort.

Down the other side towards the Pagoda entrance.

A view of Budda down towards the parking lot.

One last view back up to the Pagoda.

Budda statue near the parking lot.

At Kiama went on down to the Lighthouse and the Blow Hole. This is the biggest in the world (spray can be as high as 80ft), but our timing was off and so was the blow hole. We then walked about Kiama and did afternoon tea. We stopped at Bush Bank Hill (about a 100m above sea level) overlook before going back home for Chili Dogs.

Looking down into the blow hole from overlook.

Just another view of the surf pounding the rock. Can't get enough.

Observation platform and lighthouse at Kiama blow hole.

Kris and girls at blow hole.

What a blue view.

Kiama shops and street scene.

Not just an ordinary Cow, but a Sea Cow.

At Bush Bank Hill, a view back past Kiama Heights
towards Kiama lighthouse.

Click, Click, Click and Click.

January 11th Friday - Beach early then to Boris' work at Azurra Marine, Where he gave us a tour of the facilities and explained the yacht building business. We stopped for fish and chips before heading back and doing pizza for dinner.

This is a the top and bottom of about a 1 million yacht.

This the begining of about a 4 mil and change.

Below are three pictures of a previous 4 million unit
posted previously by Kris. Showing beauty and quality.

Weekend again – Sooper ! To Beach for a couple of hours, lazed around, had sandwiches for lunch then afternoon nap. Auntie Jo came down, we did chicken burgers on grill, played cards until aboutt 11. Then Sunday, off to the beach after toast and coffee. Back for lunch and nap, then down to the creek, fishing was in order. Then back up for afternoon tea. Later dinner at seven – great marinated pork steaks.

(I didn't put Tooheys in the text above. I thought that was understood.)
